The Red, White & Roar H-Town International Lion Dance Championship 2026

The Red, White & Roar H-Town International Lion Dance Championship is a historic three-day celebration of culture, athleticism, tradition, and world-class competition, taking place October 16–18, 2026, at POST Houston in Houston, Texas.

For the first time in the history of the United States, national and international lion dance teams will come together on American soil to compete in a major international championship featuring both Traditional Lion Dance and High Pole (Jong) Lion Dance. This groundbreaking event will welcome more than 40 teams from across the United States and around the world, creating an unprecedented stage for some of the highest levels of lion dance competition ever seen in America.

Teams from across the country—including California, Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma, and more—will compete alongside international teams representing countries and regions such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Canada, Vietnam, Australia, France, Taiwan, and Panama. Athletes will bring generations of tradition, extraordinary skill, athleticism, creativity, and competitive spirit to Houston as they compete for national and international recognition.

More than just a competition, Red, White & Roar represents a defining moment for the future of lion dance in the United States. It is a platform where cultures connect, traditions are preserved, and the next generation of athletes and performers can witness the art of lion dance at its highest level. By bringing together teams from across the nation and around the world, this championship marks a historic milestone and helps establish the United States as a new global stage for international lion dance competition.

    Southern Lion Freestyle Acrobatic Jong/ High Pole: $1,000 USD - per entry

    Southern Lion Traditional: $800 USD - per entry

    STANDARD REGISTRATION:

    Southern Lion Freestyle Acrobatic Jong/ High Pole: $1,200 USD - per entry

    Southern Lion Traditional: $1,000 USD - per entry

    INTERNATIONAL TEAMS:

    1 Category: $200 USD | 2 Categories: $300 USD | each additional entry: + $100 USD

    Teams will have 48 hours to submit payment after registering in order to secure their competition spot.
    Unpaid registrations after 48 hours will be forfeited.

  • Admission is FREE — However, you will have to pay for daily parking.

    Each team will receive parking validation for up to three vehicles

  • Inside the building, guests can enjoy a vibrant food hall offering a wide variety of cuisines, drinks, alcohol, and desserts.

  • Just outside at the back loading dock, a lively vendor and market will feature Houston specialties such as street food, matcha, coffee, and more. In addition, vendors will be offering lion and dragon dance equipment, merchandise, and other specialty items—creating a festive and culturally immersive experience for everyone.
