About Us

Soaring Phoenix is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Houston, Texas, founded in September 2008 by Alex Tran. We serve the Greater Houston area, with dedicated members from Cypress, Spring, Katy, Richmond, and Pearland. Our team is made up of passionate youth and young adults ages 7 to 32, united by a mission of cultural preservation, community service, and philanthropy.

As an independent, non-religious organization, we proudly ensure that 100% of all funds raised are reinvested directly into our team operations and charitable mission trips to Vietnam. Through these trips, we provide support to orphans and underserved communities, creating meaningful impact both locally and internationally.

Con Rồng Cháu Tiên

Many people ask why we use a Vietnamese team name instead of a direct translation of Soaring Phoenix. As Vietnamese Americans, we are deeply committed to preserving and honoring our culture, traditions, and history for future generations.

We chose the historic legend of Con Rồng Cháu Tiên—a powerful origin story representing the strength, unity, and resilience of the Vietnamese people. Within the Vietnamese community, we are proudly known as
Đoàn Lân Hội Từ Thiện Con Rồng Cháu Tiên, reflecting our mission of cultural pride, community service, and charitable outreach.
